As I had already visited paradises like Thailand and Indonesia, my focus was more on visiting Vietnam via Cambodia. After discussing it with my buddies, and checking out the superlative time to travel in Southeast Asia, we decided on a budget trip to Vietnam via Cambodia.

The two nations share a long border with different crossings, which makes it cozy for travelers and the local citizens to travel from one place to another. Travelers have various options to travel, such as by flight, by bus, and by boats. Next, I will get to know the exact routes to travel from Cambodia to Vietnam.
Vietnam has three prime international airports: their names are Boi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang International Airport in Da Nang.
Cambodia to Hanoi
Noi Bai International Airport is the most famous and the largest airport in northern Vietnam, situated 45 kilometers away from the city center. It includes flights to and from Moscow, Sydney, Paris, Singapore, Melbourne, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Siem Reap, Beijing, Luang Prabang, Seoul, and other cities.
From Cambodia to Vietnam, travelers can choose flights in Phnom Penh, and Siem Reap to Hanoi. There are around four to five direct flights from Siem Reap to Hanoi, which will take two hours. In contrast, others will transit at Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Luang Prabang. There is only one direct flight from Phnom Penh to Hanoi available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and two direct flights on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday for travelers in Phnom Penh.
Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City
According to the area, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City is the most significant global airport in Vietnam. It has so many flights in its pocket to and from the most popular places worldwide, such as Auckland, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Dubai, Moscow, Beijing, Paris, Pakse, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Singapore, Bangkok, and so on.
Travelers can hire flights from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City. There is a total of six direct flights from Siem Reap to Saigon continuously, which will include only 1 hour of traveling. Other flights will transit to Thailand and Kuala Lumpur. There are about five flights regularly from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City for one hour. While some other flights transit at Kuala Lumpur and Siem Reap.
Cambodia to Da Nang
Da Nang International Airport is the third most renowned international Airport in Vietnam, attached to Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat Airport. It is the busiest gateway to access central Vietnam. If you want to take a flight from Siem Reap to Da Nang, you should know that there are two direct flights available on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and one flight available from Tuesday to Friday. From Phnom Penh to Da Nang, there is no direct flight available from the two cities. Visitors can go for the flights that will transit at Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Cambodia and Vietnam include a long common border connected to lots of land areas between the borders. Among these, the Bavet-Moc Bai crossing is very famous for travelers to visit Ho Chi Minh City from Phnom Penh. The border crossings attached to Cambodia are officially open daily from 8 am to 8 pm. The bus will take around 6-7 hours and drop visitors off on Pham Ngu Lao Street in Ho Chi Minh City, a mighty place at the center of all touristy things.
If you want to reach Vietnam via the Mekong River, then you can hire a boat. Chau Doc in the Mekong Delta is the only global arrival place in Vietnam with a continuous ferry service. A regular boat service links Phnom Penh to Chau Doc, which begins from Phnom Penh at 8:00 am and arrives in Chau Doc at 1:30 pm, taking around 5 hours, which costs about $19. Visitors can purchase a boat ticket from any travel agency, staying house, or parking place in Phnom Penh. From the spot where you purchase your tickets, a minibus will run and take you to the boat dock.
